Are you a bride stuck in the middle of a pandemic trying to figure out how to make a micro-wedding work?

A lot of brides are having to complete 180 their wedding plans & dreams in order to still get married with a lot of restrictions on large gatherings.  That being said, you can still have an AMAZING wedding day - here are 5 quick tips how you can!

Get Married Now, Celebrate Later

My advice to most couples is to just GET MARRIED NOW!  Whether that’s eloping, just having a ceremony with family and friends, or delaying the big celebration until later, don’t let this pandemic steal away your marriage dreams.  We aren’t even sure how long restrictions will last, so I recommend getting married and experiencing the joy amidst the chaos of the rest of the world - it’s time to celebrate YOU BOTH, even if it’s virtual for most of your guests.  Also, if you feel like wearing your wedding dress twice is weird, check out my post for cheaper places you can find a beautiful wedding dress at!

Think Sanitary Options For Your Wedding Day

For those attending your wedding, you want to provide the most sanitary/safe environment for them to be able to enjoy the celebration.  Some ways to do this is providing masks for those who want them, spacing out seating so social distancing is maintained, and providing hand sanitizer and wipes for each guest to use.  Another idea is planning for your ceremony to be outside (fun, right?!).  It’s much safer to be outside in cleaner, clearer air, and you can find some beautiful spots to get married at.

Get Creative With Your Meal Options

Since you’ll have a lower guest count at a micro-wedding, get creative with your meal/food options!  Order from your favorite local restaurant, taco bar, get a cool food truck, coffee bar, ice cream shop - seriously, the options are ENDLESS!  I even recommend this to my couples who are having a normal wedding ceremony - we catered Chipotle for our wedding and have a candy bar for guests to snack on, and they LOVED it!  Plus, you can support local businesses during a hard time :)

If Money is a Concern, Consider Eloping

If having two separate wedding celebrations is too much money for you, consider eloping!  There is SO MUCH BEAUTY in just getting married on top of a mountain with the one you love (and someone to capture it - pick me!).  That way, you won’t be leaving anyone out, no guests will have to feel conflicted if they feel unsafe attending during this season, and you can still celebrate with everyone later on!  Plus, in Colorado, you aren’t required to have witnesses to get married, so it can just be the two of you (again, with someone to capture it!).

Remember It’s All About Marrying the One You Love

No matter what your wedding looks like, remember that the goal is to have a lifelong marriage with the one that you love the most.  You can have a huge wedding, a wedding with just the two of you, or a wedding surrounded by close family and friends.  The point is that you are entering a beautiful journey with your best friend, and how your wedding looks DOESN’T AFFECT THAT.  Don’t let the craziness of this season scare you away from marriage :)
