5 Wedding Tasks to Delegate to Your Bridesmaids
Hey brides - feeling a little overwhelmed with everything on your wedding to do list, but aren’t sure how to let go of total control??? Want to delegate tasks to your bridesmaids, but aren’t sure what - and how?
I totally get where you are at. It is SO hard to release control of your wedding day - after all, you want EVERYTHING to run smoothly, and let’s face it… we are all humans, and sometimes we mess up.
But here’s the truth - there ARE some things you can delegate to your close, trusted friends (aka those AMAZING bridesmaids of yours) to take some of the load off of your shoulder AND also help your day run smoothly. Here is a quick list of 5 to help you get started:
Throw a Little Invitation Party and Share in The Fun
Sending out wedding invites can be long and TEDIOUS, so what better way to make it fun than throw a little party with your bridesmaids AND check them off your list. This is a great way for all your bridesmaids to meet (if they don’t know each other too well), and having a group of your besties helping you fold and address invites is a LOT easier (and more fun) than sitting and watching Netflix all alone.
Choose Someone to Be In Charge of the Entire Bridal Party On Your Wedding Day
Most of the wedding day, your bridal party will be with you, getting their photos taken, setting up for the ceremony, and walking in the grand entrance at your reception. This means a LOT of people have to be ON TIME and know what’s going on during your wedding day… including the groomsmen. Choose someone who is very organized and vocal to keep track of your wedding day schedule and make sure each person in the bridal party is where they are supposed to be and KNOWS what is going on - give them everyone’s contact information as well in case they can’t locate someone.
Delegate Someone To Be In Charge of Keeping Your Getting Ready Room Clean
Although this is not the most glamorous task, it’s one of the most important on this list. Keeping your getting ready room clean is SO important - it shortens the time you have to tidy up before running out for your ceremony/photos, AND it improves the quality of your getting ready photos (picture piles of clothes, makeup, and hangers in the back of your photos - not super pretty). They don’t have to do ALL the cleaning themselves - just make sure to choose someone who isn’t afraid to ask others to move their things - and enjoys making things tidy!
Choose a Person to Communicate with Vendors ON Your Wedding Day
Choose one of your bridesmaids (often the maid of honor) to be the point of contact for ALL of your vendors on your wedding day. Exchange her number with the vendors and make sure they know that she is the go-to person at your wedding. This relieves a ton of stress from you having to keep track of everything, AND it also helps your vendors know exactly who they need to find if they have any questions at all (because trust me, we don’t want to stress you out either!)
Choose Someone to Round Up Family Members for Photos
Ahhh, family photos. One of the most important, and often most chaotic, moments of your wedding day. Chances are, your wedding photographer most likely won’t know EVERY member of your family. To prepare for family photos, give your photographer AND one of your bridesmaids a list of family photos you want. Make sure to choose someone who knows most of your family members by name, as they will assist the photographer in finding the right people for each photo (and can also tell when someone is missing).
Here’s the deal. YOU NEED HELP for your wedding day. You’ve chosen these wonderful bridesmaids to walk in this journey with you. Trust me, THEY WANT TO HELP!!! With these 5 easy tasks to delegate to your bridesmaids, you can remove a HUGE burden from yourself and actually enjoy your wedding day!
