HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!!
Can we just breathe a simultaneous sigh of relief? I don't know about you, but this week has been crazy!!!
I decided to have a little fun this week and share a couple things that I LOVE with you and want everyone to experience. So here is a quick list of my Friday Favorites!
Favorite Resource: She Reads Truth
All my ladies, download this app NOW. She Reads Truth is a mobile based app that provides a large variety of devotionals targeted for women, and they are incredible. The plans usually range from free-$1.99, and they are completely worth the investment. Also, their online store allows you to purchase the devotionals in a hard copy form as well as a variety of other items that are seriously amazing. PLUS MEN - THERE'S A HE READS TRUTH APP FOR YOU. If you are looking for an easily accessible and incredible devotional series, try checking this app out. For Real.
Favorite Book: Scary Close by Donald Miller
Donald Miller is one of my favorite authors, and his latest book hits home, hard. If you are looking for an honest approach at relationships, check this book out. Scary Close: Dropping the Act and Finding True Intimacy explores the idea of forgetting the act of putting up a face to impress people and truly connecting on a deep and long-lasting level. Miller has a blunt and conversational tone throughout the book, sharing his own personal stories, that you can truly connect with - it just feels like you are talking with a friend. He will challenge and encourage you to put down your walls and be yourself - it may be difficult, but the relationships that blossom will be worth it.
Favorite Video: What I Learned From 100 Days of Rejection
This. Video. Is. Incredible. I LOVE TED Talks, but I can say without a doubt that this is my absolute favorite. In What I Learned From 100 Days of Rejection, Jia Jiang discusses his journey in building self-confidence through experiencing purposeful rejection - and it is HILARIOUS. I have nothing to say except watch to to laugh, smile, and be challenged into giving up perfection and embracing the possibility of rejection.
Favorite Thought:
"Life's deepest meaning is not found in accomplishments but in relationships." - Gary Chapman
In a culture driven by success, it's easy to forget what truly matters - the people that support you. I challenge you today to spend more time investing in your relationships than your time pursuing personal achievement - trust me, you'll receive a much greater and deeper return on the investment.
