Reflections on Post-College Life with a Friend

YES.  I AM ACTUALLY POSTING SOMETHING.

First of all, I am so sorry that I haven't been able to post.  But honestly, I realized that I was stretching myself way too thin.  Trying to plan for wedding things, plus keep up with a full-time job, volunteering, and photography was too much to handle.  But, through some wise counsel and direction from God, I decided to take a step back from some things and make rest a bigger priority for myself.

You know, life after college is kind of rough.  I mean, we spend four years surrounded completely by friends that we know and love, constantly have random excursions and also a million fun activities we can attend, and if you just want to enjoy the day, you can skip the occasional class and take a nice walk outside.  Then we are thrown into a world full of people that we hardly know with different lifestyles, a calendar that seems to be unbearable empty and full at the same time... and you probably shouldn't just skip work if you aren't feeling it that day ;)

My friend Erika and I often reflect on how we are doing and have both agreed that this past year has definitely been a difficult but growing period for us.  Those valley moments are where God is truly pulling us closer in relationship with Him and pruning a desire for Him first over everything else.  And yes, this is a painful and grueling process at times, but seeing all the growth made over that time has been so encouraging and enlightening.

So, if you are feeling overwhelmed or discouraged by your current circumstances, whether you've just graduated college or are just retiring from your job, know that God is pulling you closer to Him and inviting you to find real joy and peace that lasts forever :)

Lastly, I actually got some time to take photos, so Erika and I went out and got some BEAUTIFUL golden hour pictures.  I'm obsessed.  Please enjoy :)
