As a wedding photographer, one of my favorite things in the wedding day to capture is wedding details - it allows me to work creatively as well as capture some of the really important pieces to your wedding day.  I work with each of my brides to help them prepare their details for their wedding day, and I want to help you with yours! Here are some tips to help create the best details for your wedding EVER!

  • Gather everything together BEFORE your wedding.  I have each of my brides put all their details in a box for me when I arrive - that way, they have everything they could possibly want in their detail photos, and we don’t have to waste time trying to find things!  Here is a list of items I encourage my brides to include (none are required, and you can also bring other things):

    • Rings and wedding bands

    • Invitation Suite

    • Jewelry

    • Perfume

    • Shoes

    • Trinkets/Keepsakes

    • Vows

    • Veil

    • Garters

    • Something borrowed/blue/old/new

  • Ask your wedding florist to bring your flowers to your getting ready area - and ask for a few spare flowers.  Flowers are a BEAUTIFUL addition to detail photos - and since you already have gotten them for your wedding, you can grab a couple loose flowers to throw in the photos - or even your bouquet!

  • Include something personal.  Detail photos can help save keepsakes that may fade away or get lost - but the photos of them can last forever.  Include something that is special to you - whether that’s a grandparent’s Bible passed down through the generations, a necklace from your mother, or a gift from your soon-to-be-spouse.  This just adds a personal touch to your photos as you can look back fondly over the years.

Again, these are TOTALLY just suggestions from a wedding photographer - this is your wedding, so include (or don’t include) whatever you want.  This can also help ease your mind, as most of these items you’ll need while you are getting ready - so having them all together can help you as well!!!  Now go out there and get some GORGEOUS detail photos!
