Why Squarespace is the Best Website Builder for Photographers

Wordpress.  Squarespace.  Showit. Wix.

All top website builders for small businesses - but which one should you choose for your photography business?

In my photography and web developer careers (yes, I’m both!)  I have used all of the website builders above - but my favorite BY FAR is Squarespace.  I recommend Squarespace as to go to website builder for all photographers; and here’s why:

  1. It’s SO EASY to use.  Out of all the website builders listed in this post, Squarespace has the most user-friendly platform and builder.  There’s no code needed (but easy ways to insert code if you want), and everything is very easily laid out and labelled.  And its drag-and-drop functionality makes it simple for even the most internet-challenged user to work with.

  2. The templates are modern, sleek, and customizable.  There are SO MANY templates to choose from, and they are so beautifully laid out and structured.  You can also customize basically anything, but it’s not TOO customizable (to the point where you have to literally customize every piece on your page).  Everything is in a block structure, which means you don’t have to worry about weird spacing at all on your page - making your user experience so much better!  If you are curious, I use the Brine template, which is one of the most customizable templates they offer.

  3. They are MOBILE-FRIENDLY.  Your website working on mobile is ESSENTIAL for today, especially if you are working on your SEO.  Squarespace automatically converts your design for mobile - so you don’t have to do any extra work on that end (which many website builders usually require).

  4. Automatic updates and great support.  You don’t have to worry about updating your site and code manually, since Squarespace handles all the dirty work for you.  Also, if you need any help, their support is GREAT.

  5. Affordable.  Squarespace is only $12-26/month - SO SO SO AFFORDABLE.  Although it may be more than Wordpress, you are paying back for ALL the time you are saving in how easy it is to set up and use.

  6. Amazing tutorials.  Squarespace has an incredible tutorial library for basically ANYTHING you could ever want on your website - and they are super easy to follow!  They also split their tutorial info based on the template you have chosen - so no confusion there.

Trust me, Squarespace is the way to go for your photography website - it’s easy, affordable, and GORGEOUS!  As someone who has both a computer and creative background, I can affirm that this is the best website tool out there for photographers right now - so go check it out!
