I used to think that the goal in marriage was to do everything perfectly, and together.

Hank and I, in our first few months of marriage, seemed to almost “walk around” in each other in an attempt to make sure everything went perfectly - and was always fun!  We would try to occupy ourselves each evening with new activities (avoiding the TV because we thought it was bad), tried shouldering the chores for each other in an attempt to “serve” each other, and didn’t really talk about how those things were making us feel.

And guess what happened?

I LOVE PLANNING MORNING ROUTINES.

Yes, maybe I am crazy.  Okay, I’m crazy. But here’s the deal: I’m a morning person, and I LOVE planning.  So planning morning routines are probably one of my favorite activities, like ever.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been BEGGING my parents to get me my own puppy.  I promised I would take care of it EVERY DAY and spend time teaching it so it would be the PERFECT DOG.  However, they declined every time I asked, saying that they would end up having to take care of it. I was EXTREMELY upset by this, up until the day I actually got a puppy… and then my perspective completely changed.

Want to know what two lenses I 100% recommend every wedding photographer having???

Here they are: a 50mm lens and a 35mm lens.

Let’s first start with the 50mm - and in particular, my favorite is the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens.

Ah yes, winter :)  A wondrous time filled with peppermint hot chocolate, Hallmark Christmas movies, and yes, WEDDING PROPOSALS AND ENGAGEMENTS!!!  As a wedding photographer, nothing gets me more excited than getting to hear alllll about the proposal ideas that people have come up with to surprise and ask their loved one to marry them :)
